Background - Why Do I Need AntiMalware:

There is a new class of malware, mainly fake antivirus programs that disable most internet access and disable antivirus and antispyware programs.  They look like real antivirus programs and prompt you to send money to download their cure.  If you do, they will mainly charge your credit card over and over.  Once a PC is infected, it takes several hours of specialized cleaning, including removing the hard drive for an initial clean attached to another computer, which usually costs in the neighborhood of $250!

Malwarebytes AntiMalware has been shown to be effective in removing this malware, if the latest version and latest updates are on your computer before the virus hits.  The paid version updates daily. Master Software recommends that you purchase licenses for and install AntiMalware on all your computers.  There is no guarantee that this will prevent you from getting one of these obnoxious and costly problems, but we believe it will provide reasonable protection for a reasonable price.

Purchasing a Malwarebytes AntiMalware license:

Click the Malwarebytes Logo  OR….    Go to https://store.malwarebytes.org/342/?affiliate=9137&cart=29945&scope=checkout
A new window opens.  You need 1 license per PC.  If you change the quantity, click the update arrows to the right of the Qty box.
Enter your delivery address, billing address if different from shipping address, and payment information.  Complete your order.
When your order is complete, you will see a screen with your order number and the ID and Key to be entered into the program.  Print out that page for your records.  You will also have the opportunity to print a receipt.

Installing Malwarebytes AntiMalware (if it is not already installed on your PC):

Click the link provided on the order completion page to download and install Malwarebytes AntiMalware.  Accept all the defaults.

Registering your Malwarebytes AntiMalware License:

Open Malwarebytes AntiMalware and click the Protection tab.
Click the Register button.
Enter your ID and Key from your Order Completion page or email, and then click the Register button.
Click to check the box "Enable Protection Mode".  Leave the checkmarks that appear in the next set of boxes.
Click the Scheduler button.
On the Scan tab: Set Frequency to Daily Enter a time when the computer is likely to be on, but not being used (you can type over the time shown). Set Type to Full Scan. Check the boxes as shown in the example to the right. When done, click the Add button to add your scan schedule to the list at the top of the screen.
On the Scan tab:. Set Frequency to Hourly Select a starting time, but this is not critical.  You can leave whatever is shown. Check the Wake computer from sleep to perform task button. When done, click the Add button to add your scan schedule to the list at the top of the screen.
At the top of the Scheduler screen, there should be a line for Update and a line for Full Scan:
Click the Close button on the Scheduler screen. Click the Exit button on the Malwarebytes AntiMalware main screen.
AntiMalware will now run in the background checking files that you download and open.  It will also update its definitions once a day and perform a Quick Scan once a day at the times you selected.
